Metrolink continues to develop the network throughout Greater Manchester and is currently part way through a multi million pound upgrade and expansion plan that will see Manchester’s tram system become the biggest in the UK. The first stages of the South Manchester line opened with three new stops at Firswood, Chorlton and St Werburgh`s Road last summer and will culminate at Manchester Airport by 2016.
