The Childrens Adventure Farm Trust (CAFT) in Knutsford is one of 2 Charities TT Cheshire have decided to support (the other being Macmillan Cancer Support for East Cheshire)
The concept of The Children's Adventure Farm Trust (CAFT) was conceived in 1985 by a small group of volunteers that included our former Founder Patron, Tim Grundy. Based around a beautiful 17th century farmhouse, in the heart of Cheshire countryside, the Charity offers free adventure breaks and activities to children who are disadvantaged by illness, disability and poverty, from all over the Northwest.
There are so many ways in which we (as a group) and as individuals can help support this amazing regional charity.
Here are just some that we think might be of interest to you ladies:

The Birds of Manchester have stepped up to create a truly magical event to celebrate the 100 year birthday of International Women’s Day. On the evening of 8th March the women of Manchester will join the campaign to stop violence against women and girls by staging a V Day celebration. A cast of 12 local birds will perform The Vagina Monologues, a powerful and liberating play b y Eve Ensler. This will be followed by a high profile debate on the contemporary challenges women still face throughout the world and on our own doorstep including trafficking, rape, abuse, slavery and early sexualisation of our daughters to name a few.
This will be the biggest, cause driven event taking place in the city at the amazing Great Hall in the Townhall and we promise an inspiring night out with equal measure of tears and laughter . Every penny we raise will go to helping local women surviving or fleeing from domestic abuse and 10% will be donated to the V Day campaign to support global projects. She currently works in Human Resources for the Co-Operative Financial Services in Manchester and has just finished writing her first chick lit novel......anyone know an agent looking for new talent?
Born in north Manchester Debra now lives in Hale with daughters Alexandra who is 20 and Ella who is 18, plus 3 rabbits - Squidge, Barker and Little One ( he‘s, errr, little).
Having turned 50 in the last year she is looking for a new challenge and has started learning Italian with the intention of spending time at a Venetian language college next summer.

To celebrate INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY on 8 March 2011 the women of Manchester will join the global effort to stop violence against women and girls by staging a V-Day celebration. V-Day is the brainchild of an amazing woman Eve Ensler, playwright, activist and author of THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES. To date Eve and her global V-Day campaign has raised over $70 million to support women worldwide and I have long been a fan of her work.
So, on the evening of 8 March the Birdhouse Fund will join her campaign to stop violence against women and young girls by staging a performance of The Vagina Monologues with a cast of real, local women at a central location and all the money raised by ticket sales, sponsorship and related activities will be donated to the Birdhouse Fund and distributed to women that are fleeing from abuse or struggling to get their life back on track because of domestic abuse in the Manchester area. 10% will also go into the global V-Day pot. Think about this….. 1 in 4 women in the UK are likely to experience some form of domestic abuse in their lifetime and how about this comment from a man…
Today there is an undeclared war against women in the UK. Each year some three million women will experience violence in one form or another; On average two women die each week at the hands of a partner or an ex-partner. 80, 000 women experience rape or attempted rape. An estimated 1.2 million women experienced stalking in 2003. 4000 trafficked women are in enforced prostitution, locked in dingy flats, drugged, threatened and effectively enslaved. And we should make no mistake about this. These are crimes against women. There are male victims yes, but the truth is that this war is against women because they are women. The figures speak for themselves. In fact they scream. (Trevor Phillips, 2007)
I know the women of Manchester will step up and support this event and I have every confidence the performance will be a sell out and an inspiration, however, despite rumours, I am not SUPERWOMAN and I cannot pull this off single handed so I am asking for your support to make this an evening to remember, one that will launch a dedicated fund for women that will continue to make a difference long after the tears and laughter dies down and we are all safely tucked up in our beds.

I am hosting an information meeting at the home of THE BIRDHOUSE FUND, Community Foundation, Speakers House, Deansgate, Manchester at 6pm on Thursday 11 November. This will last 2 hours and give me the opportunity to outline our plans and resource needs in more detail. I will also be able to share more about V-Day, Birdhouse plans and your role on our dynamic, can do and fun team!
This is an opportunity to stage a great night out. If you have not seen The Vagina Monologues it is an mind blowing experience and a fab platform to generate money to change the lives of women suffering unimaginable hardships.

Celebrities are heading to Manchester to support six of the city’s best-loved charities with a mixture of song and comedy at a fundraising event with 2009 X Factor Finalists and more.

Amanda was recently voted the 11th ‘Most Inspirational Woman’ for Essentials magazine, she got to be a model for the day which at 41 she says was quite a surreal experience having so much attention. Don't worry though she has her gorgeous family to keep her grounded.... two fantastic, talented and hard working sons Benito who is 14 and Alex who is 11, also not forgetting Scooby their black labrador and Esther their very good looking fluffy cat.
Amanda set up SureSlim in Hale, a weight and nutrition clinic in 2009 and has loved being able to change so many peoples lives – from coming of diabetes medication to new careers from their new found confidence.

My back had been playing up the last few weeks. An age old injury resurrected by my recent efforts to get fit by getting more than a little red faced jogging round Prestwich Clough (Shout out to TT Bird Jo Kain for her ongoing support on that one!!)
Anyhow, thought I’d test out Spa Satori on their promotion for this month, and paid a visit for a Sports Massage from on site specialist Terence.
Terence specializes in Sports Massage and has an impressive track record of working with various sports clubs and being generally of sounds knowledge as to how the body works and how to fix it! After checking out my background, he took 30 minutes to ‘put me back in place’, at the same time talking me through some useful exercises, and educating me a little as to how the body works.
He had a firm hand (a must for me when it comes to my back), and I felt confident and relaxed in his company, and practically bounced out of the door afterwards!
Def worth a visit if you have a particular injury that needs sorting through massage.

Jo is 'The Boss' at Hatters Promotional Merchandise and originally set up her business to get over the depression of turning 30 !! Waxing Angel; Angela Ayling is a senior therapist at Spa Satori with 15years experience in the industry. Her unique yoga style stretching techniques, efficient speed coupled with her knowledge and friendly patter makes waxing pretty much pain free! Although she advises to avoid waxing around your period due to being more sensitive and careful to plan in you’re waxing on separate days to St Tropez spray tan and body scrubs.
As a health & beauty tutor Angela has introduced the qualified Spa Satori juniors to her skills but of course they haven’t the years or the speed that she has, but are they excellent none the less!
Angela recommends Lycon Hot wax because it delivers superior performance, removing stubborn and short hair as 1mm (1/16") for the more delicate face or intimate parts. Due to the lower temperature of the wax, it's excellent for sensitive skin with reduced discomfort and irritation. It is a little more expensive than Tea Tree Strip wax but the benefits are well worth it!

Most asked question: What's the difference between a Brazilian and Hollywood wax?
Answer: The terms have been used interchangeably, but there are differences. Brazilian waxes often leave a small strip, triangle or oval shape piece of hair in the front, while leaving a strip of hair in between all the way to the back by your bum. Waxing Hollywood style removes all of the hair, front all the way to the back.
Names are often created at salons and spas so that you know how much you're paying, and they book the right amount of time while having an idea of much hair you're looking to remove. Just waxing the bikini line is much less work and doesn't require as much time or product as waxing all of the hair.
Bikini line just tidies around the knicker line to give triangle at the front – nothing removed from underneath. While an Extended bikini also removes some from underneath but not fully to the extent of a brazillian wax
